At the core of our philosophy is providing holistic and patient-centred care. We believe in looking at the big picture when caring for our patient’s we don’t just treat the problem but understanding the underlying cause of skin concerns. Our solutions recognise the complexity of the skin and are designed to treat the cause of your skin concerns so that your skin has long-lasting, natural results.

Our team provides effective, customised solutions to each individual patient and concern in a safe and warm environment. They do this by staying up to date with the latest research and technology advances . By doing this our team ensures that your treatments and consultations are performed at the highest quality always. Our team regularly attend conferences, read journal articles and involve themselves in local communities building healthy skin confidence wherever they go.

Emily

Nurse Practitioner

Emily has a Masters in Nurse Practitioner Studies (University of Queensland) with a special interest area of Dermatology. After extensive training working under some of Queensland and even the worlds well known medical and procedural dermatologists for 10 years, Emily established Skinfluence.

Emily has a passion for skin, health and wellness. She loves to transform her patients where their own confidence grows from treating their skin conditions revealing fresh, vibrant skin. Emily uses a holistic approach to each patient to understand their skin and health first before tailoring skin care and treatments.

As one of the very few Dermatology Nurse Practitioner, Emily is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and is endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. With this endorsement she is able to assess, diagnose and treating patients with skin conditions. She can order and interpret pathology and radiology tests. Her treatment plans for patients can also compromise of prescription (covered under PBS) and non-prescription care. Her consultations are also eligible for a Medicare Rebate. Emily enjoys collaborating her care with other health care professionals and is able to refer patients to others if required. She also provides patients with education so that they take ownership of their health and wellbeing.

Dr Paul Teng

Dermatologist; FACD, MBBS, B.Pharm

Paul graduated from the University of Queensland in 2006. Prior to completing his Bachelor of Medicine, he graduated from the University of Queensland in 2002 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy. Dr Teng was inspired by his colleagues during his final year of Medicine training and subsequently trained to be a Dermatologist. He graduated as a Fellow of the Australian College of Dermatology in 2014. During his Dermatology training Dr Teng trained at the Princess Alexander Hospital, Royal Brisbane Hospital, Mater Brisbane, Greenslopes Private Hospital and had a rotation in the United Kingdom at the Wirral University Teaching Hospital.

Dr Teng is a Fellow of the Australian College of Dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatologist. He has also been published in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology; A clinically invisible melanoma (2013). He has a special interest in acne and axillary hyperhidrosis.

Our team have been lucky enough to work alongside Dr Teng for the past 7 years.

Caylynn

Dermal Clinician

Caylynn is a passionate Dermal Clinician, at Skinfluence Clinic she loves the dynamic, patient centred environment and team she is privileged to work with everyday. Caylynn began in the Beauty industry back in 2014 after suffering acne herself and in search of something more, came across the Bachelor of Health Science in Dermal Therapies which is incredibly niche still to this day. Caylynn has now graduated from her studies in 2018 with Victoria University and has been lucky enough to work across both Plastics and Dermatology.

What is a Dermal Clinician you might wonder? A Dermal Clinician has studied a 4 year Bachelor of Health Science (Dermal Therapies) degree where the emphasis is in skin management of acute and chronic skin conditions, lymphatics, laser and light physics and human anatomy. This enables them to work independently or within health care practices. Caylynn is also a full and contributing member of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians.

Caylynn continues to further her studies by undertaking courses in Skin Cancer and Dermoscopy as she believes skin health is multifaceted. Her special interests are in laser procedures, especially vascular laser and planning skin cancer management with a Medical team. She thoroughly enjoys working collaboratively in a team to uphold patient centered care.

Kira

Registered Nurse

Kira is one of Skinfluence Clinic’s Registered Nurses with over 12 years experience in Dermatology. She completed her Diploma in Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) in 2008 and has worked alongside many general and cosmetic Dermatologists since then. She has a wealth of knowledge across both general and cosmetic dermatology.

Kira’s passion for nursing and skin led her to complete her Bachelor of Nursing with the University of Southern Queensland in 2020. Her knowledge and passion for skin is evident during interactions with patients and fellow colleagues. You will often find Kira discussing the latest skin advances with her colleagues. She has a passion for treating vascular conditions, in particular leg veins, as she finds helping these conditions rewarding and satisfying.

Kira stays up to date with the latest advances in dermatological nursing by being an active member with the Australian Dermatology Nurses Association. She also attends conferences regularly to maintain her professional development.

Alicia

Administration

Alicia is one of our Skinfluence Clinic’s Administration team members. She has extensive customer experience and goes far and beyond ensuring visiting patients feel welcome and comfortable.

Outside of work Alicia is a mother of five children so organisation is key for her.

She is looking forward to assisting our team and our patients so we all feel special and as important as one and other.
